South Africa increased the installed capacity of the sixth round of renewable energy procurement, and the solar energy quota remained unchanged

The Ministry of Energy of South Africa has issued the tender for the sixth round of the National Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Plan (REIPPP).

The government said it would increase the total installed capacity quota from 3.6 GW to 4.2 GW. However, the quota for solar projects will remain unchanged at 1 GW, while the quota for wind power will be increased from 2.6 GW to 3.2 GW. The deadline for submitting the project plan is October 3.
